Mississauga's first mass COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Closes

I had the opportunity to document UTM's mass vaccinations clinic operations from when it started to when it closed. It was a really amazing thing to be a part of. I think this will be a moment that I'll look back on fondly.

Something really special about this day was getting to spend time with the staff who ran this clinic throughout its lifecycle. They were playing slideshows of the images I took at the clinic. The staff were gathered around reminiscing about their experience. It’s moments like this that are really special for me as a photographer. To be able to capture photographs of these milestones is such a privilege. I made sure to share the images with everyone I could so they would have something to look back on from their time working at the clinic. For the staff who worked and shared memories I hope these images and videos age like a fine wine.

POTD 15.08.19 - Leuty Light

One of the great pleasures of living beside the beach is the ability to get out there on a moments notice. When I see the sky lighting up like this it’s just a hop skip and a jump to get to a good viewing point. Getting out as often as possible is the hardest part.

POTD 03.08.19 - Stills day at Woodbine

Giddy up, it’s the long weekend!

The other day I set down the video camera and picked up the stills camera at the racetrack. I took some time to grab some images for Woodbine Entertainment. Kudos to the track photographer. Getting these kind of shots is not as easy as it might look. If you miss the perfect moment, that’s it, because the horses are long gone!

Here are a few of my favourite stills from that day.

Blasted by Winter at the Winter Stations

Wind and blowing snow at Woodbine Beach. This Winter Station seems to be holding up pretty well, but it’s signage has seen better days.

I have been waiting for some winter weather to hit before I got out to photograph this years Winter Stations at Woodbine Beach. I thought I might have been SOL since just yesterday I was out at the beach for a run and it was mighty sunny, it felt well above 0°C and all the snow was melting. This year I guess I would be taking some spring-themed Winter Station photos, but lo’ and behold! This afternoon the winter weather came in with a vengeance. It was a little chilly at first, but the sun was shining. Within a few minutes of walking around the wind started to pick up and the snow really started to blow. I got my wintery Winter Station images, hooray! These came at a price though. I wasn’t really expecting this weather so I was caught shooting glove-less. Usually not a big deal. However, this time I had the weirdest thing happen to my hands. After I got back in from the cold they swelled up. I’ve been out in the cold shooting with thin gloves or no gloves lots of times before, in far worse weather too, but I have never experienced this phenomenon before. I found it comical how big they got. Luckily once I ran them under some warm water they went back down to their normal size.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy these wintery Winter Station images, I almost lost my hands for these ones!
