Snow Day Street Portraits // 20.01.22

One of my favourite genres of street photography is “street portraits.” It’s not something I’ve been practicing as frequently as I would like to, but I’m hoping to change that. When I started shooting I definitely did a lot more of this. I’ve been trying to carry around my Fuji X100V with me everywhere, so hopefully that will open up more opportunities to shoot some strangers.

The other day, here in Toronto, we got walloped with a big snow fall. I decided to go out to shot some photos while the snow was falling. I managed to get some interesting street portraits. Here are some of my greatest hits from that day.

POTD 27.02.19 - Toronto Snow Day

Yesterday we were blasted with a ton of snow… like a lot. We crushed the previous record for February 27, which was set in 2013. 12.4 cm was the last record and it was the greatest snowfall on record since 1938! We destroyed that record. There were spots in the city that had up to 20 cm of the white stuff. The extreme weather we are experiencing more recently is probably super normal and definitely not global warming *hard eye roll*. Yesterday I resisted the urge to stay inside and got out to capture this epic snow event. Here are a couple of the stills I captured.

I survived this snowmageddon and I’m happy to report that it has stopped snowing and is now a sunny and beautiful day.

Here are a few images taken during the big snow storm we had a couple days back. I’m so happy to have some winter weather in the city.

Happy Friday! Here is a trio of cabin photos before you head into your weekend. These were all taken within 5 hours of each other. It almost looks as though these were all taken in different seasons. It’s crazy how fast the weather can change.
